Yes, but we don’t advise it. When you submit payment through your bank’s bill pay system, your bank prints a physical check and mails it to us. It takes seven to 10 days after your bank has mailed the check for Energy Texas to receive and process payment. Your account will not be updated to reflect payment until we receive the check via USPS, leaving you vulnerable to late payment charges and even disconnect notices.
If you prefer to use your banking institution’s bill pay system, we suggest having your bank submit the check seven to 10 days prior to the invoice due date.
Or better yet – sign up for autopay through your Energy Texas My Account portal, and you’ll never have to worry about missing a payment again. With autopay, funds are drafted from your bank account and immediately applied to your Energy Texas balance.
